Cats Scramble Squares
There are 38 known species of felines in the world today and 41 breeds of domestic cats bred throughout the United States and Canada, including the Abyssinian, Burmese, Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, Siamese, Persian, American Shorthair, the Maine Coon and the Russian Blue. Domestic cats come in a variety of shapes, sizes and coat types. The domestic cat is agile, intelligent, friendly and affectionate. Cats are both sociable and independent. They are equally happy in the company of other cats or humans or by themselves. Cats are meat eaters (carnivores) with strong hunting (predatory) instincts. They have powerful jaws with long, sharp teeth, and they have sharp claws which they withdraw up into their paws when they are not being used. Cats have exceptional hearing and have keen eyesight that enables them to hunt easily in the dim light before dawn and after dusk. Cats are actually born without hearing. Their newborn deafness is a self-protection designed by nature. In their first few weeks of life, kittens need further physical development to protect their extremely sensitive hearing. Without such deafness, loud noises that hurt the ears of humans would be torture to kittens. Features
