Zoombang is a lightweight polymer material that is soft and comfortable at rest, but on impact the material instantly changes to behave as an elastic solid, dissipating and transferring energy from blunt forces. Zoombang protective gear is widely used to protect against injury in contact sports and hazardous work environments.
The Classic Equine Zone Wool top Saddle Pad features a vented Zoombang insert. This breathable insert remains securely in place, providing conformed layered protection. The insert remains soft until it is impacted ( for example, a hard sliding stop), then immediately behaves as a solid, dissipating the impact. After the impact is dissipated, the insert softens to its original state. The insert is covered with a hand-woven, 100% New Zealand wool blanket top that can be folded back for shim placement if necessary, and lays clean and flat against the pad. the bottom of the pad is durable orthopedic grade felt that absorbs moisture, remains soft and pliable, and provides excellent shock absorption.
