The Rambo Supreme Vari-Layer Medium Weight Turnout has been updated for 2022 to have a 1680D ballistic nylon shell which is 120% stronger than the original 1000D fabric. Vari-layer technology has been designed to offer more warmth with less weight than a traditional medium weight turnout blanket.
Vari-LayerTMtechnology works by concentrating on the areas of the body where the horse loses the most body heat, primarily the over the back and hips. By putting the majority of the fiberfill over these areas, the blanket is able to wrap more closely to the body and trap more body heat (an increase in thermal values of up to 30%) with less weight overall. The effect of gravity compression is also lessened, meaning the blanket stays fuller, longer and is therefore warmer.
